Metapack helps transform delivery options leading to fast growth and entry into new markets
London, UK – Ecomnova, the fast growing eCommerce gifting specialist, is launching a new premiere service to corporate customers following its deployment of the Metapack delivery management platform. The 161% increase in delivery volumes since the end of 2014 has enabled the company to extend its Appleyard London brand to support the demands of a new and lucrative sector.
The company, which launched only four years ago, initially provided white-label gifting services to customers of brands and retailers, including Debenhams. In 2013 it moved onto the Metapack delivery management platform and was able to expand its delivery offer and improve flexibility and capacity, particularly during peak demand periods. This prompted the launch of Appleyard London a year later, allowing Ecomnova to offer a luxury online floristry service which it is now expanding towards corporate customers. The services on offer include unique floral arrangements created by experienced florists to grace corporate environments from boardrooms through to television set designs.
“One of Metapack’s greatest strengths is its ability to support fast growing, pure play operators like us and moving to the Metapack platform helped us to transform the business,” said Andy Bate, COO at Ecomnova. “When we started, we used just one supplier and one courier and we had a 4pm cut off point for next day deliveries which we operated just five days a week. As a result, our offer to customers was limited. With Metapack we have been able to make full use of the platform’s scalability and high degree of automation to expand at a rapid rate. This has allowed us to introduce new delivery options, including three different levels and a wide variety of price points that have helped to increase overall website conversions to 8-9%. What we have been able to do is align our delivery strategy to our determination to enhance our customer experience, and we are now well positioned to serve the demanding requirements of the corporate sector in the next stage of our development.”
Today, the company utilises Metapack’s delivery management platform to manage five couriers, offering nineteen different delivery options. It operates seven days a week and has launched a 9pm cut off for next day delivery. Within just two months of initiating marketing for its new premiere service, it has already attracted a growing number of prestigious accounts, including The Sun newspaper, AirBNB and Channel 4 Television.
“Our customers expect their deliveries to be made on time, every time, which means that our supply chain logistics must be extremely agile. The flexibility of the Metapack platform allows us to quickly switch across different courier services to ensure prompt fulfilment, which not only enhances customer satisfaction but also underpins our entire operation as it scales. We also believe the platform will facilitate our international expansion plans,” Andy Bate continued.
Kees de Vos, Chief Product Officer at Metapack, said: “One of the focus areas for our business is enabling ambitious, fast-growing online retailers who are in the early part of their development. The Metapack platform easily scales to continually meet the needs of the company. This is just the tip of the iceberg for Ecomnova and we can help it to add more carrier options to meet new customer requirements, services or geographical expansion. Undoubtedly serving corporate needs will create further complexity and demands on the Appleyard London brand, but Ecomnova has a delivery management platform in place that will scale to meet demand.”
